In the face of the ongoing pandemic, the world has been forced to re-evaluate and adapt to new ways of living. The Feast of the Black Nazarene, one of the most significant religious events in the Philippines, has been no exception. In 2021, the traditional procession known as Traslacion was cancelled, and instead, revolving masses were held throughout the day.

The cancellation of the procession is still due to the risks of the ongoing pandemic. To ensure the safety of the public, proper health protocols have been implemented throughout the city. While these protocols are essential, it is often difficult to maintain them due to the innate stubbornness of human beings. Most people believed that their strong devotion will shield them against the virus.

The cancellation of the Traslacion may have been a disappointment to many, but it is important to remember that the safety of the public must come first. As we navigate these uncertain times, we must hold on to whatever faith we believe, but also remember to act responsibly and with consideration for those around us.

In the end, it is our collective efforts that will bring us through this pandemic. And may we all work together to overcome this challenge and emerge stronger on the other side.
